Huntsville Botanical Garden
This lush 112-acre garden offers beautiful walking trails, seasonal festivals, and a butterfly house. It’s a peaceful retreat for families and nature lovers alike.
We love spending a day off with out kids, the gorgeous grounds and each area is being designed for everyone in mind, from little ones in their very own garden area, to the seasonal displays, lake, butterfly house, enjoying a good bite at the Cafe, exploring the garden and learning about everything our North Alabama area offers is worth doing.

Monte Sano State Park
Just minutes from downtown, Monte Sano offers hiking trails, picnic spots, and stunning mountain views. Perfect for a quiet escape into nature. The views on your hike are surely to impress you. This is one of our favorite family spots and it could be yours as well, there are numerous opportunities to camp, go for a day hike, join one of our local marathons, fundraising walks, or even just going for a picnic and a great photo opportunity. Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment
The largest privately owned arts facility in the U.S., Lowe Mill is home to working artist studios, galleries, and delicious local eateries.
Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment is another quaint vibrant and full of ART venues you need to visit if you are in town for a quick visit, planning to move to Huntsville, or simply have never visited before. They offer 153 working studios, 7 Galleries, 200 Artists and Makers, 4 Performance Venues. Plenty of options to enjoy. Additionally, concerts on the dock have been a great experience for our family, and during the year you may find surprising activities to enjoy. You can even adopt a special pet or buy your favorite handmade jewelry or even sign up for some yoga or seasonal classes.

Huntsville Museum of Art
Featuring both regional and national exhibits, this museum offers a cultural touchpoint in the heart of Big Spring Park. Additionally you can rent some of the rooms for your private events, there are plenty of opportunities to learn and explore all of it has offer to locals and visitors. Plus the view from the museum over the Big Spring Park is one you want to capture before or after your visit to the museum.
Big Spring International Park
A scenic downtown park surrounded by walking trails, koi ponds, and event spaces—ideal for a casual stroll or people-watching. This is one of all times favorite specially for us natives of Huntsville. Taking a stroll during spring season with your favorite people is for the books but the truth is that no matter the time of the year, the Big Spring Park Of Huntsville is sure to welcome you. We love taking the kids to feed the ducks and fish, crossing from one side of the street to the other, having a picnic with friends, walking the tinsel trail during Christmas season, and taking photos right when Fall season starts!

EarlyWorks Children’s Museum
Interactive history and science exhibits make this a family favorite, especially for younger kids eager to learn while they play. However, I know of some adults that enjoy a visit to this very interactive museum in our Madison County area. We recommend you stopping specially if you are a family with kids, single parents, or even grandparents. The Early Works Children’s Museum has a lot of opportunities for little ones to learn and adults to remember!

Weeden House Museum & Garden
Step back in time with a guided tour of this historic 1819 home, complete with period furnishings and lush gardens. “The Weeden House at 300 Gates Avenue, built in 1819, is a preserved architectural and historic landmark. Dr. William Weeden purchased the property in 1845, and his family owned it until 1956. The now city-owned museum showcases exceptional 19th-century design. “

Orion Amphitheater
Huntsville’s premier outdoor music venue brings in big-name artists and provides an unforgettable live entertainment experience. If you love music this is now Huntsville’s top venue for bands to hold their concerts. We still have our VBC in Downtown but The Orion has been a hot spot.
WE enjoy visiting during the year specially when our favorite music bands make a stop in Huntsville or for the Hispanic Heritage Celebration, just because we have special Colombian in my house that loves to be around all of our amazing Latino friends. Another perk of enjoying a day or night of music and events at The Orion is that you never go hungry, there are always options for food and drinks and you never know what Food Truck will be parked there so you can explore the flavors of Huntsville.

MidCity District
A newer addition the last couple of years to Huntsville’s entertainment scene, MidCity offers dining, shopping, live music, seasonal farmers market and recreational spaces all in one spot.
MidCity District is definitely at all year favorite not only for our family but also for those we know that have moved to Huntsville and now call this their home and for others that have been around for a while. The convenient location on Highway 72 is just super genius allowing everyone in the greater Huntsville area from Madison, to East Limestone, and even as far as it goes in the city limits.
